Yet another 17!

I picked this up on the cheap and when I got it it was missing a few parts. Most notably it had no wheels. I remembered to look in my spares tonight and lo and behold I had 2 wheels that were very close in size. So I got motivated and threw this together in an evening. Still have some sanding to do but it will be ready for paint soon. There is NO interior so I'll just paint over the windows and then repaint them black, blue, or a steel/silver after it's done. I have decals for "My Devotion" although the model is an early F and MD was a late F model.

  1. Blech...Airfix....

Gee, pretty soon your house is going to look like this hobby shop I visit when I go to southern California. They have about 10 B-17's hanging from their ceiling.

  2. The 17 is the old Revell kit with all the moveable (not anymore) doohickeys. The Airfix Vulcan is one I impulse bought for next to nothing and am now trying to sell so I can get a couple Fine Molds Star Wars kits.

  3. STupid me for not noticing the Vulcan.

About the only thing I like about Airfix is that they will do some planes that other companies wont touch. They do end up becoming nice models after a little work.

  4. Newer Air Fix models are decent. Just have to make sure it's a new tooling.
