Dirty!

I wasn't happy with how clean the Corsair was so I took out the pastels and went crazy.
Looks a hell of a lot better now.
I don't want to give it away.

1/32 WW2 planes

F4U-1 "Big Hog"

Didn't really weather it so it's fresh off the assembly line. Minus a tailhook that broke and was too thick anyway. Resin flaps, resin wheel wells, resin main tires, Verlinden resin cockpit set, EagleCal decals. Took about 2 months from start to finish.

F4U-1 1/32 Xmas present

So I'm building my father a Corsair for Christmas. He built this exact kit probably 30 odd years ago. It's still sitting on the shelf in their basement and still looks pretty good but I decided it was time for an upgrade. I went all out on this kit using a resin cockpit upgrade, resin wheel wells, resin lowered flaps, and a photo etched kit for many upgrades. Been about a month so far in construction and it's finally nearing paint stage. I'm building it as the "Big Hog" from VF-17 Jolly Rogers. This plane was involved in a famous altercation where he was shot by friendly fire while coming out of cloud cover during a battle. You can see the patches in the plane in the photo and where I tried to replicate this with some scrap PE metal on the model. This has been an ambitious project but it's turning out superb and should be museum worthy upon completion.

B-17s

So I joined a modeling forum, ARC, and since then I've been building, buying, and selling models like crazy. I've wanted to do a 1/48th B-17 for a while now since I built one many many years ago but the kits all cost abour 45$ and I hadn't bought one yet. So on the forum a guy posts that he is selling 3 B-17Gs and 1 B-17f 1/48th kits complete with a bunch of upgrade sets as well. Mine for 67$ after shipping!!!
Box arrived today and I laid everything out in the living room and was blown away. I plan to build 2 of these and use the others for parts and or sell one back to the community.
