Hellcat Decaled

I added decals from 2 different planes together because I thought the original decals were too plain. Decals that were added are the numbers, stripes on the wings and vertical stabilizers, and the stripes on the tail. It's not historically accurate but I never care about that. Needs clearcoated and then I'll work on weathering it.

F-104 Cockpit

The aforementioned cockpit that the helmet I just completed goes with. After he got the helmet my friend took these pics on his phone. I'll try n get some better pics sometime in the future.

Hellcat ready

Airbrushed and ready for the finishing touches. Need to hand paint the engine, propeller, wheel struts, tires, hook, and a few other minor touches. Then will get another coat of gloss on the propeller area as I only have flat black paint then to the decals. Maybe be finished by this weekend.

Miniatures

The R2D2 from the X-wing model. Sadly these are the clearest pictures I can get since it's so small.

A 1/12th scale F-104 helmet. This came in a kit that was a 1/12th F-104 cockpit complete with ejection seat and helmet. Built for a friend and it turned out really cool. Hadn't finished the helmet till just now with that snazzy new orange I got for the F-4. Looks really cool. I'll get pics of the cockpit next time I'm at his house.

Blast from the past

This is probably about 20 years old or older. Put it together and brush painted the colors on the fuselage and then chalked the rest of it. I still think it looks really cool and have actually been trying to find this and several other old Star Wars kits to put together again now that I'm older and much more competent. I need to craft a stand for this as the wings don't really support the body and the wife won't let me hang it from the ceiling. The neatest feature is the little R2D2 that pulls out and is completely hand painted. Back when I was young and my hands didn't shake. I couldn't get a good image of it though and will try again with the better camera sometime.

Actually turned out really good I guess. Needs a final gloss cote to seal decals. Otherwise simple yet looks nice and is different than any F-4 I've made before. I will take pics of my models at my parents next time I'm there. I have a 32nd scale F-4 that is just mammoth compared to this one.

Professional

http://www.gengriz.co.uk/2009/Jul09.htm#intruder
This guy basically built the same A-6 I am and clearly shows that I am an amateur all the way.
Wish I was this good.

Works in progress.

Love the way the camo turned out on the A-6. Hate the underbelly and am probably going to have to respray the underneath of it. Interested to see it finally complete.

F-4 is painted as a target drone. Remote piloted to be shot down with test missiles. I thought it would be different with the color scheme being so bright. The orange turned out great and so far it's looking good. It's ready for little touchups and finalization before decaling. Should be done in a few days.
